I have been interested in making things for as long as I can remember.
I am primarily a textile artist with a love of 3-dimensional work and machine embroidery. I enjoy experimenting and have played around with a variety of working methods including fused appliqué, free-motion quilting and image transfer. I particularly like working with textures and surface embellishment and am increasingly drawn to working in a more sculptural way.

I still teach regularly in schools but more often than not I work as an artist and an Art Education consultant. I write materials for teachers and produce artwork exemplars that appear in educational suppliers' catalogues. On top of all that, I also tutor courses for guilds and groups. The variety appeals to me - even when deadlines clash and everyone wants work finished at the same time!

I belong to 3 artists groups; Textile Art Group Suffolk (TAGS), Chain Reaction and Diss Embroiderers. Belonging to different groups provides a range of experiences, support and opportunities to exhibit and it's great fun to meet with like-minded people and spend some time talking textiles.
