Craft Courses for Adults
Currently, there are no courses running but I would be happy to arrange courses
for guilds and groups. I can offer courses in a range of different crafts and will
run courses for a half day or a full day.
I will be happy to travel to a venue of your choice or will run the course
locally to my home in Suffolk. Travel expenses will be charged. Please see the

Silk Painting
From the basics of applying the design to silk using gutta to a range of special effects
the course will guide you through the techniques step-by-step in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.
Basic materials are provided in the course fee.

Paper Making
We will recycle existing sheets of unwanted & used paper to produce lovely textural handmade
sheets of paper. Dried flowers, threads, sequins, feathers and many other items can be added to
create even more interesting papers. Adding colour and embossing will also be covered during
the day.

Machine Embroidery
Covering the basics including the use of standard machine patterns we will make rich and
varied embroidered surfaces. You will learn the simple method of free-machine embroidery
and put it to use along with water soluble stabilisers to make a small 3D vessel.

Making Silk Paper
Lustrous silk fibres can be used with an adhesive to make shimmering sheets of silk paper.
The resulting sheets of paper can be used for machine embroidery and many other textile
applications.

Getting Acquainted with Friendly Plastic
Friendly Plastic melts at low temperature in hot water and it can be used to make
jewellery, gift items, greeting cards and many other beautiful things. You will learn a
range of easy techniques and use them to create a visual feast!

Transfer Techniques
Use transfer paints and crayons to produce your own unique fabrics. Take rubbings,
use resists and layer your patterns to make beautiful one-off pieces of textile art.

Scrumptious Surfaces for Papercrafts
Apply paints, dyes, Markal Paintstiks, texture gels and lustre powders to produce
subtle ranges of pattern and colour on paper. Use the resulting papers for card-making,
collage and many other crafts.
